Julia Thomas
As an active participant in my academic studies at Georgetown University, I am pursuing a major in African American Studies. Hailing from the vibrant city of New Orleans, Louisiana, I have been immersed in the rich traditions, music, and cuisine that define our diverse African American community.
Driven by my deep connection to my cultural heritage, I have chosen to delve into the history, literature, and social issues that have shaped the African American experience. Through my coursework in African American Studies, I am gaining a comprehensive understanding of the struggles, triumphs, and contributions of African Americans throughout history.
In addition to my academic pursuits, I actively engage with student organizations and initiatives that promote diversity, inclusivity, and social justice on campus. I am committed to participating in meaningful discussions on racial equality and actively contribute to community outreach programs. By striving to make a positive impact both academically and socially, I am dedicated to fostering a more inclusive society.
With my passion for history and my active engagement in academic studies, I am excited to bring my knowledge and expertise to Unearthing Your Roots. I look forward to helping you uncover and celebrate the unique stories of your ancestors through the lens of African American history.
